Dr. Russell Fernandes is a staff cardiologist at Markham Stouffville Hospital. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Toronto and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Fernandes further specialized in Adult Cardiology at the University of Manitoba, where he served as Chief Resident and was honored with the Sanofi Heart and Stroke Foundation Cardiology Award.
He pursued advanced training in Level 3 echocardiography at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, gaining expertise in transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography through a comprehensive fellowship program.
Dr. Fernandes welcomes all referrals. His practice encompasses a wide clinical scope with interests in primary prevention, heart failure, and valvular heart disease.
